A Christmas Morning Reflection

The smile within a baby’s eye,
A mother kneels to pray.
A birth within a humble place,
Where animals bleat and bray.

A band of men in a cold dark field,
Bright light now fills the sky.
A message that God has come to all,
To live and one day die.

A group of people worshiping,
In a lowly cattle shed.
Lying there just a little child,
That had hay for his first bed.

The word has gone throughout the world,
That the King of Kings has come,
To one day die upon a cross so cruel,
For salvation to be won.

And now we stand on this Christmas morn,
To sing to God above.
For He has come and will return,
And will take us home with love.

Christmas – God has done marvellous things

“And Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I have no husband?” “And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son.” (Luke 1: 34,36)

Doesn’t God make it hard to believe? One woman is too old to have a baby and the other has no husband.

God fulfills His promises in strange, miraculous ways. Through these two women God brought into the world two children that a nation had been waiting and longing for, for over 400 years.

It is our own belief in this wonderful story, that allows us to celebrate Christmas.

Christmas is God’s work. John the Baptist was sent by God. Jesus was the Son of God. The Kingdom is God’s Kingdom.

Christmas is a time to praise the wonderful works of God! For us as believers to celebrate the Birthday of our Risen Lord! Only the believing acceptance of the work of God gives strength for today and tomorrow.

Let us all fall on our knees before our Risen Lord, remembering the manger at Bethlehem, and with humility and reverence sing praises to our Lord and God this Christmas.

“For he has done marvellous things.” Psalm 98:1 (MKJV)

Five Little Candles

This short presentation is simple for Teddies to do.

Five little candles burning so bright. (hold up 5 fingers……wriggle fingers)

The first one said, “We make great light!” (hold up 1 finger…..arms up)

The second one said, “The child is born.” (hold up 2 fingers………..rock baby)

The third one said, “Our light will adorn.” (hold up 3 fingers…………..arms out in front palms up)

The fourth one said, “We shine for Him.” (hold up 4 fingers……..palms forward at sides of face fingers spread)

The fifth one said, “Let’s not be dim.” (hold up 5 fingers……………cover pointer finger with other hand)

So they stood very tall and glowed very bright. (stand tall…….arms up)

And the Christ child smiled that very night. (smile, hands around face)

Christmas Story

Cut out pictures of various scenes of the Christmas story from old Christmas cards. Make 2 sets with the same number of pictures in each set. Divide your group into 2 teams. Give a set of pictures to each team and have the teams arrange the pictures in chronological order.

If you have a large group, make up more sets and have more teams.
