Orange Day

In November last year Delores Alleyne, Former GFS/USA President invited GFS members around the world to join in using a booklet entitle “PRAYERS OF HOPE” for the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence of any form Against Women and Girls. This booklet was created so GFS sisters collectively will pray for sisters around the world and we will continue praying until the next World Council in Johannesburg, South Africa in July 2020 This coincided with statements from the United Nations about domestic violence. We decided to set aside our June Prayer Meeting to use some of the prayers from the booklet and to pray for understanding and awareness, the victims who have suffered from violence in its different forms, children, the perpetrators of violence, the youth of the world, workers for change and to dedicate ourselves with new resolve to proclaim the cause of righteousness in the name of Christ.
GFS Australia encouraged members in the various dioceses to set aside 25th of each month as Orange Day when they would pray against violence. In keeping with that we asked those attending to wear something orange and our photos show we did just that.
